Better denim starts with better materials. We prioritize certified organic and regenerative cotton — a tiny share of the world's supply — grown with less water and healthier soil practices. That same intention carries through to production: state-of-the-art factories that recycle up to 98% of their water, using ozone washing, air drying, and renewable energy to reduce water and energy use by design.

The Only Toxic We Appreciate Is the Song

We work with mills and wash houses that have verifiably reduced chemical use, moving away from harmful treatments common in conventional denim. Our partners are independently tested against leading safer chemistry standards like bluesign, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and ZDHC — not self-reported claims. Fewer chemicals in your jeans, safer conditions for the people who make them, and lower environmental impact.

Measured, Not Marketing

We don't guess at environmental impact — we verify it. Using Jeanologia's EIM, the industry benchmark standard for environmental denim wash impact, 96% of our washes score low to medium — meaning significantly less water, energy, and chemicals than conventional denim.

Our denim fabric is rigorously third-party tested multiple times from development through pre-production — verifying durability, consistency, and performance across fabric weight, tear strength, and color fastness. "I love that these are the perfect amount of baggy while still being flattering. The wash is a nice summery light wash, and they're a great length for me, not dragging but not showing my ankles. My only complaint would be I find the crotch to be tight/uncomfortable when sitting (perhaps due to having a bigger bum??) even though I sized up and they're loose through the waist. I have another pair of Everlane's similar to these which fit kind of the same so perhaps it's just the cut, but my Gardener's don't pull this way so not totally sure. Anyway, overall I really like them, but would love them even more if this minor issue got fixed for the next round."
