Better denim starts with better materials. We prioritize certified organic and regenerative cotton — a tiny share of the world's supply — grown with less water and healthier soil practices. That same intention carries through to production: state-of-the-art factories that recycle up to 98% of their water, using ozone washing, air drying, and renewable energy to reduce water and energy use by design.
We work with mills and wash houses that have verifiably reduced chemical use, moving away from harmful treatments common in conventional denim. Our partners are independently tested against leading safer chemistry standards like bluesign, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and ZDHC — not self-reported claims. Fewer chemicals in your jeans, safer conditions for the people who make them, and lower environmental impact.
We don't guess at environmental impact — we verify it. Using Jeanologia's EIM, the industry benchmark standard for environmental denim wash impact, 96% of our washes score low to medium — meaning significantly less water, energy, and chemicals than conventional denim.
Our denim fabric is rigorously third-party tested multiple times from development through pre-production — verifying durability, consistency, and performance across fabric weight, tear strength, and color fastness. "LOVE that this was updated to include a zipper instead of buttons (though I didn't mind them before). The Way-Highs have always been my favorite jean from Everlane, and the zipper update was the cherry on top. Great quality and thick denim, perfect for shoulder season weather that isn't quite cold but not warm either."

They're cute, so I may spring to get them altered. My other disappointment is the jeans' incredibly chemical smell. I don't think I've ever had worse from a new clothing item. I've washed three times and it's still there. Very odd and disconcerting. :("
